Allerthorpe Lake

Just a 20 min drive out of York is Allerthorpe Lake. It's a lake with water sports and a few animals - a few very cute Shetland ponies! 

We went last Friday with Della's friend Abbie and the babies (Gus and Cora) 

Gus very much enjoyed chasing the ducks! 

Cake

Della make a cake this week. Mainly all by herself. I helped with lining the tin and measuring the weights (a tad) and taking out of the oven but she did the rest, including the electric mix! As you can tell by the photo she especially enjoyed decoration! 

We ate half at home and she took the other half to preschool to share with her friends!

Happy 4th birthday Ethan

Last weekend we went to Durham to celebrate Ethan's 4th birthday - it was hectic but fun. He had his party at a gymnastics club (similar to the one della went to). By the time it was time to eat every child was red, hot and pretty clammy! 

Possibly the best birthday cake ever made!! 

Camping with buddies

We went camping last weekend with some friends. The girls and boys (Gus had a buddy too!) loved it! 

Dedicated blog readers may recognise the venue as the same place we camped last year. It's a great little place, a working farm and this time they even put on a nature walk and bat hunt for the kids. 

The weather stayed good and although our chums left early (Rick had just returned from over a month in India the day before we went!) it was a very lovely, fun filled family weekend

This was Della on a nature walk while we were camping - about 8pm so she was exhausted, but keen to learn more about wildlife. We had to leave shortly after this due to tiredness, but she'd done very well.
