Cat in the Hat

It was world book day on Thursday. At preschool the children dress as their favourite characters and take their favourite book in to read. After some chitter chatter about princesses from Della she eventually decided she wanted to be the cat in the hat (comes back) after simon started making a hat and I started stuffing wading in some tights.

This is the outcome...

Visitors - 1

This week Granda Andrew and Maria came to visit.

They arrived while me and Della were at a birthday party. This meant we returned home and Della was not only clammy and excited from a trip to an indoor soft play area with giant slides but she was mid sugar high too! She was a very lucky girl and returned to presents to open for her and Gus.

On Monday we hired a a vehicle so we could all drive together to Harrogate to meet Trevor (Andrews cousin) and Ann his wife. We ordered a 7 seater, we got a bus!

We travelled to Harrogate and met the family for a cuppa. It was snowing when we arrived but parking the bus was easier than thought! Della did drawing, Gus cuddled and we all ate cake

Then we piled back in the bus and headed to the Dales and a pub for food in front of a fire

The sun then came out so we headed home via Ilkley to spot where Andrews parents used to live.

When we arrived home it was time for fun.

The journey home

On the way back from alton towers we called off at the beautiful National Trust Kedelston House. As we only really wanted to stretch our legs and use the facilities we were allowed to walk the outskirts of the grounds for free. It was beautiful...

We love a bit of George Ezra. Budapest is our current family song. When it comes on the radio we all stop what we are doing and dance and sing along...

Alton Towers - again

On Thursday we took another trip to Alton Towers. We did this last year and after searching through the blog I've found our post from last time - it is here:

This time we took GranAnne and Granda (well and Gus!)

Here are a few highlights...

Della was mainly excited about sleeping on the top bunk of the bunk beds!

We went out for dinner and Della got a very special childs dinner. It was chicken wraps that you build yourself but it came in an exciting box

We also hit the pool again. Lucky for us Gus already loves swimming

Especially in his big orange ring!

Can you spot Grandma and Della? The large bucket above them fills with water and then drops it in a huge splash to the people below - luckily they got out of the way in time!

A visit from Anna

Last week Anna came to visit. We played with Lucy and Sophie where Della discovered Moshi monsters. They are small little characters with funny names. Della has now officially started collecting them!

While Anna was here it was also pancake day. We did ours with lemon, golden syrup and Nutella!

Della was shipped off to preschool on the Wednesday and we had a quieter day with the very well behaved Gus. This's only comprised of stopping places for coffee and I even got treated to a proper cream tea...
