Gran Helen visit

Gran Helen came to visit the other day, and we took a trip to castle Howard. 

We met some peacocks there

And had a good look around.

Both Gus and della got excited to go on the tractor train.

Back home, we put up a hammock chair that Angela's parents brought her back from the Caribbean about ten years ago, and has never been out of our attic... It was a big success!!

We also planted some acorns that della picked up from castle Howard.

Back to school

Summer officially ended this morning. Della went back to school. She is now in class 2 and was amazingly happy to go in this morning.

Day 45 of 47

As you can tell by the lack of posts it's been a busy 6 weeks. 

Today we barely left the house - although After the success of York 10k Simon was out running at 6.30 this morning - more on this in retrospective posts. 

At some point just before lunch we all found ourselves playing in our bed, Charlie and the chocolate factory style. The kids were cute and a pleasure today!

Della woke up one morning dressed as a rabbit. 

The other day we made some very effective paper planes from a kit from gran Helen 

Della also decided to do some drawings using stones

And a couple of weekends ago daddy ran a 10k race. He didn't win unfortunately, but did finish it.

Della could not believe that she was allowed one night to wear her pants on the bath! In true life!!
