A nice day

Today me and della are just home from a trip to town. We were only meant to pop in quickly but were having such a lovely time (with a very well behaved della - regardless of being exhausted!) that we stayed there for nearly 6hours! Impressive!

A surprise visit

I'm a bit delayed on blog posts - so much lovely stuff is happening that it's pretty obvious it's summer. A couple of weeks ago we had a couple of lovely visitors. It was gran Anne's birthday. We shared a lovely day out in town eating lunch and walking the walls. We also did some playing in the garden.

Our visitors - 2

The weather was nice for at least half the time, and we made the most of it with a BBq outside. Unfortunately our table wasn't big enough for everyone, so Della and Bluet had a smaller table next to us.

We took Bluet and Della swimming - both loved it, and got wet outside the pool too

Uncle Nick made a Fox mask for Bluet

and Della tried it too.

Della enjoyed getting to know Ilona better

Indoor fireworks were a success, even if during the daytime!

When it came time for everyone to go, it was a bit sad.

Our visitors - 1

Last Thursday Ben, Bluet, Ilona and Gran Helen arrived in York to stay with us for 3 nights. Everyone had a lovely, if sometimes hectic time. Della and Bluet got to know each other much better, and apart from a few to-be-expected occasions, they played and shared well together.

Bluet showed Della how to get the most out of her trampoline

They shared a bedroom - which went more smoothly than it might have done considering Della's usual desire to have things exactly as she wants them.

We all went to Rowntrees park, hoping to play outside, but then got rained on so escaped to the local library cafe. Ilona enjoyed munching on some bread.

As did the ducks...

Della decided to force cuddles on Bluet. Not sure Bluet always appreciated it!

... but Ilona did!

...determined to give Bluet that cuddle...

Uncle Nick took his uncling duties very seriously

Looks like Rita was surprised to see visitors!

Commonwealth games

Della got very excited after nursery today, watching the commonwealth games gymnastics. This is her interpretation of what she saw:

The trail-gator

When our visitors left Della was pretty sad. Della loves having a house full of people (more people to talk to) and she had had so much fun with everyone that cheering her up was going to be quite a challenge. Simon managed this though. With taking her out on her big big and tow bar for the first time. She loved it!

This is her on the journey - upside down because I was holding my phone behind me
