Visiting Santa

Last Friday we took an exciting trip to see Santa. It involved an airline inspired check-in with elves, boarding a sleigh and 'flying' through the woods to get to santas grotto

Then it was time to meet the big man. All the other children either stayed with their patents or sat loudly shouting on the floor. When Della was asked her name and what she wanted she politely stood up, approached Santa and her name and that she wanted some sparkly shoes and some loom bands

She was then given a shiny gold key which gained entry into Santa toy store where she could pick any toy she wanted (she went for a plaster of Paris pony maker) 

Then it was time to walk through the woods, through giant toadstools and sit in a wigwam, by a fire having a coffee

It was the perfect way to meet Santa properly for the first time

Happy birthday!!

Today was Simons birthday, to celebrate we had a 'dress like daddy day' 

We also did other things but they will be in another blog post

At a birthday party today Della got some new glasses 

The last few days...

Have been quite busy but Della and Gus are happy... 

In her advent Della got some paper chains from the elves. She loved doing them, and Gus loved watching her 

That night before bedtime the 'kids' jumped into bed together 

Then today, after coming to work with me for a while, then being weighed by the health visitor who visited (he is now 12lb 7oz and 57cm long) he just hung out in his bouncer having a smile and generally being quite happy with himself

A visit from James

On Sunday James came round for tea. Della loves James. Her affection for him started when she realised many shoes ago that they both had converse trainers. Although both have new ones now, they both still chat about their converse. 

This was the first time Gus had met James. He was instantly taken and happy to have a cuddle. 

This was also a big day for Della as it was her first vientetta ice cream. She ( obviously) loved it! 

After this we all got involved in some role play - some shop keeping and selling and buying but mainly looking after babies , which was odd as Della rarely does this any more. Daddy had Gus, James had Rita and Della had Annabel - I was allowed a break from baby duties! 

James feeds Rita whist trying to have a conversation... 

Simon was also declared king of the house by Della, I guess this will happen less frequently as she grows older

Local Christmas fair

The local church had a Christmas fair on Saturday. There was a giant polar bear outside and toys, bacon sandwiches and cake inside 

Gus slept through the whole thing, including many of the older ladies cooing over him!

Parents not needed

Turns out Gus would just be happy with Della. Della would just be happy with Thomas the Tank.

Preschool Nativity

This week Della's nursery put on a nativity and Christmas concert. Della was an angel and had a speaking part. It was pretty awesome!!



Gus enjoyed it too!

Let Christmas begin

Normally the decorations go up on 12th December but this year della is so excited and everyone else seems to have theirs up we decided to go for it on Saturday. The process began with Della being allowed in the loft for the first time...

Then we celebrated our hard work (after a trip to a Christmas fair - another post) with hot chocolate and The Snowman!! 

Hips don't lie

This week Gus needed to go to hospital again. This time to have his hips scanned. He did some crying and had a few squirty wee's while it happened. You can see the yellow and blue half pipe he was wedged into for it. After the initial screams he settled down and seemed to enjoy it... And best of all his hips are fine

A new bed and tummy time

Title says it all really. 

Gus is increasingly enjoying time on his tummy and was just too big for his basket so now has a bigger crib
