A big catch up... Sorry, far too many pictures

A big bunch of pics from the last few weeks. First up, a couple of Della with Gus.

James popped round for a pre-Christmas dinner, and helped entertain both kids

Santa also chipped in with some entertaining just before Christmas.

This is one of Angela and Della going down the slides at creepy crawlies. Della got quite adventurous here, and even persuaded gran Helen to go on the slide with her at one point.

This was while we were having a break on the way to uncle nicks house...

And here's Gus in Nick's house admiring the view.

Della looking moody at the station while saying bye to grandad Andrew

Spot the Della and the Ethan in amongst the toys...

Spot the mammy and the Della in amongst the ruins of Finkle abbey....

On the tram at beamish

And then the carousel

Della got a keyboard for Christmas from Anne and Len, which she likes to operate like a wedding disco - making announcements over the p.a.

A quick snuggle...

And another snuggle...

Della showing grandad Len how to write!

All set for the great outdoors??

Yep! Let's go!

We're here!

That was a long day...

'This is what mammys do Gus'

Mammy taking della to a Frozen themed party - not sure who's more excited?

And this is a pizza I came home to tonight! It was very tasty!

A causal Sunday

On Sunday Della slept in until past 8am. This was only because she was up in the night. Playing. We did not know this until we went in her room and it was considerably different to when she went to bed. All of her friends were sat up, each with a book to read in front of them.  On the floor all her blankets were laid out very neatly. One dolly was in a dolly high chair with pretend food in real bowls in front of her. All of this activity meant that she must have been up playing in the night for quite some time.

This is fine if she gets enough sleep - in fact when I was a girl I did the same. I used to play with dolls and read books for a long time in the middle of the night without disturbing anyone, I'm not sure my parents even knew I was awake some of the time. However, Della needs more sleep. She gets tired and grumpy without

Actual New Year's Eve

Our real life New Year's Eve celebrations happened on New Year's Eve Eve - see next post - so on actual New Year's Eve we went out for a quiet dinner with friends. Gus was all bundled up and slept the whole time.

Our first port of call was the carousel in town (Della's second in a few days - another post on that to follow). Della and her friends Edith and Olivia had much fun, it's surprising how fast it goes!

Then the normal train as the girls held hands going to the pub!

We managed to find a table outdoors (but undercover and with heaters) without booking a table. Lucky

Della drew pictures of everyone while we waited for our food.

Then it was home time. Given our 3am finish the night before (see next post) I was asleep as the bells rang in the new year. Simon managed to stay awake and did wake me but I was awake for about 5 seconds only!

Here's to another good year!

New Year's Eve eve

On New Year's Eve Eve GranAnne and granda came to visit to play with all of Della's new toys

This was mainly so we could go out. I had bought simon some tickets for the Craig Chales funk and soul show for his birthday.

We went out late and came home very late. We've still got it - somehow!

Beamish - again

On the day after Boxing Day we met Ethan at Beamish. They had a Victorian winter wonderland set up which was beautiful. We met some baby reindeer too and Della took pictures of Ethan with her new camera!

Then we went on the carousel which went very fast!

Played in some pretend snow!

Had a ride home on the Daddies

The following day before heading home we called off for one last visit to Ethan and played pirates!
