Swiss trip

So just over a week ago, the Collinses of Heworth travelled to visit the Corse Collinses of Zurich. We had a good trip over, even though we left York at 5am to drive to then fly from Luton. Gus and Della were both very very excited to be going...

The cousins all got on very well together straight away, though the 3 girls did find Gus a bit of a nuisance for the first day, then he worked his way into the group by ignoring them complaining about him and just getting on and doing his own thing.

We had a trip into the old part of Zurich, and the excellent Spaghetti factory, where all the kids ate huge portions.

Gus treated himself to a pirate duck with his pocket money from Grandma and Granda.

Bluet took us to see her school - it looked lovely.

The weather was nice, so there was lots of playing out in the garden.

We had a trip to the Dinosaur Museum

We also went up the local mountain, and had a very nice outdoor lunch enjoying views of the Alps. This was the nearest we came to snow on our trip too.

Gus disobeying strict rules about not putting your feet on the seats... But he obeyed the one about not cutting them with a saw...

We had lots of fun at a local park the morning before leaving

Then it was time to go, and Uncle Ben took us to the airport tram before heading to work. Gus was upset...

He fell asleep at the airport so we went to their amazingly nice family area and della played table football.

We landed just at the end of storm Doris, and despite the pilot warning us it was going to be bumpy, the landing was very un exciting.

Then once back in Luton, we just had to get the bags and leave.

All in all we had a lovely visit.
